17-Carat ‘Bleu Royal’ Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond Could Fetch $50 Million

In November, Christie’s will present the 17.61-carat “Bleu Royal,” its largest internally flawless fancy vivid blue gem to ever appear at auction in its Geneva Magnificent Jewels Sale. With an estimate between $35 and $50 million, the Bleu Royal will among the top five fancy blue diamonds ever sold at auction. The Bleu Royal, set in a ring flanked by diamonds, is part of an anonymous, private collection for more than 52 years. Given the incredible rarity of over 10 carat fancy vivid blue diamonds, only three such gems have ever been offered at Christie’s auction. Collectors will have the chance to bid for world-class luxury with a prestigious fan reflective of their 2019 Cartier Art Deco Emerald and Onyx drop earrings and a 36.45-carat Burmese sapphire with a Graff design expected to fetch millions.
