$2.3 Trillion Asset Management Behemoth Granted Crypto Custody License in France

CACEIS Bank, one of the largest asset management firms in Europe, has recently been granted the license by the financial market regulator Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) to provide crypto custody services in France. Per a press release, the CACEIS group’s banking arm in France has just been granted Prestataires de Services sur Actifs Numériques (PSAN) status by the AMF. This breakthrough has authorized CACEIS Bank to operate as a custodian for crypto assets by preserving the users’ private keys. Notably, CACEIS is co-owned by banking giants Credit Agricole and Santander.

On the press statement, the financial institution has bragged about being the first in its league to be granted PSAN status in France. The statement reads: “Arnaud Misset, CACEIS’ chief digital officer said: “Eliane Méziani, CACEIS’ Senior Advisor for Public Affairs also remarked: “

Going back to the AMF’s official website, CACEIS was formally acknowledged as a digital asset service provider (DASP) on June 20. It should be noted that CACEIS is one of the top asset-servicing industry players for corporate and institutional clients with approximately $2.3 trillion in assets under its management.
