Binance seeks protective order against SEC’s ‘fishing expedition’

In a court filing on Aug. 14, Binance put forward a motion for a protective order against the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), claiming they were on a “fishing expedition”.The petition detailed how the regulator was requesting documents going back to November 2022, covering a large amount of topics with nothing to do with customer assets. They had also order depositions for six staff, including the CEO Changpeng Zhao, despite that none of them had unique firsthand knowledge on the topic.

Currently, the case is still developing however further developments will be added as they become available.
