Elon Musk kickstarts new AI company to ‘understand the universe’

Elon Musk, the acclaimed business magnate, has made bold strides with his recent venture—xAI. As the company said, its goal is to comprehend the “true nature of the universe”.
On July 12, Musk shared that xAI will be actively collaborating with Twitter, Tesla, aside from some of the other organizations he owns. Furthermore, Dan Hendrycks, who was made the director of the Center for AI Safety, will be the advisor of xAI.

Many of the research experts constituted in the xAI team have worked at prominent organizations such as DeepMind, Google Research, Microsoft Research, OpenAI, etc. Some of the important advancements that it has successfully produced include the Adam optimizer, Layer Normalization, Batch Normalization, and what is famously knows as adversarial examples.

In the category of major breakthroughs, xAI has experimented on notable entities such as AlphaStar, AlphaCode Inception, Minerva, GPT-45m and GPT-4. Proceeding further, xAI has planned an exclusive twitter space conversation for July 14. It was previously recorded in April 17, that Musk’s nickname for the language model he had created was called ‘TruthGPT,’ that computed the complexities of the universe. With the invention and existence of such a language model, Musk claims it possesses a deciding function of avoiding any arbitrary “left-wing” unfairness embedded in various other prominent chatbots.

On July 6, Elon voiced his thoughts on AI by stating it can possibly be much more evolved than any living human being at any given facet in the future and that very soon the world would acknowledge the dynamism of such an innovation.
NASA Inspector-General Attribute False Quote to Elon Musk, Urges Changes On July 14. On Wednesday, July 14, 2020, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Inspector-General attributed a false quote to Elon Musk, the well-known business magnate and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla.

The quote attributed to Musk indicated that his company, SpaceX, expected subsequent flights in 2021 would lead to Mars colonization. However, Musk and SpaceX had not expressed these statements in any previous statement or media conference.

The NASVO inspector-general further urged changes in its communication processes in order to ensure accuracy and fairness in the future. Musk responded to this inaccurate attribution by Tweeting, “This quote is absolutely false and never from me. Please correct this ASAP.”
