In early December, Gibran Rakabuming Raka – Indonesia’s 2024 vice president candidate – declared, in the growing digital era, he will address potential tech-risks with “digital downstreaming”. According to this “digital blueprint”, there will be vocational centers in the entire nation to prepare Indonesians for new technologies such as blockchain, cyber security, biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital marketing. Furthermore, Raka seeks to stimulate the adoption of cryptocurrencies among the younger generations under the national government’s support, that will abide by tighter regulations. This comes as a prospective element of Prabowo Subianto and himself`s economic change plan ahead of February 2024 global elections.
