UN Security Council delayed vote on situation in Gaza following US announcement of a 10-nation coalition for additional shipping security in the Red Sea region and Hamas releasing a video of three elderly hostages currently held in the area. Clashes reach a new high as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu communicated with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austen, with one demand to remove Iran-backed Hezbollah missile positions near the region. Adding to that, Yemeni Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for attacks on two commercial ships in the Red Sea. The region saw Mongolia earlier this week, when Israeli Defense Force demolished the monument in Shuja’iyya, Gaza City which commemorated the 2014 attack on an Israeli tank resulting in the death of multiple IDF soldiers.
Tensions between Israel and Palestine originate back to the Oslo Agreement which saw the PLO recognize Israel’s right to exist. The strong animosity between the two reaches a peak multiple times; that of present’s war entering its 74th day saw Hamas captor more than 120 Israelis and foreign nationals as hostages. Growing fears for conditions of these forced citizens shine a light of it’s ongoing situation as families and hostages send out their hearts plea for freedom and intervention.
