Millions of Apple Users to be paid in $500M iPhone settlement

Apple has reached an agreement with almost 3 million users to compensate them for their involvement in a batterygate class action lawsuit, deceiving customers by intentionally slowing down old iPhone models so they would update to the newest generation. Through the settlement, Apple is committing to a payout between $310 million and $500 million. As explained by a partner at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, this case was amnesty in standing between consumer privacy, products and computer interruption law, which now warrants substantial relief to the affected customers, as well as complete transparency when being asked for product model upgrades.
