Hundreds of people hoisting banners of the European Union waved in harmony during the National Rejoin Rally that was organised in the heart of London with the demand of Britain rejoining the banner. The eager participants carried signs with assertive declarations regarding rejoining, like “the road to rejoin the EU starts here” and “rejoin, rejoice”. The 2016 referendum witnessed a majority backing ‘Brexit’ which singled out Britain from the EU. Peter Corr, co-founder of the spear-heading movement, expressed that the prompt to organising the march was British people feeling that everyone had lost faith on the return to the EU.
Several expert opinions made an appearance at the event oriented towards redeeming Brexit grievances. Rachel Ashley chose to represent outrage claiming that the ‘Brexit’ decision had made some members of the audience ‘utterly mortified’ and feeling further ‘ashamed’ for having been subjects of possible misguidance. 68-year old retiree Frances Smith boldly shared her point of view of rooting for the EU by suggesting the arrangement of Britain being taken away was ‘wicked’.
Labour and Liberal Democrat leaders exhibited views opposing re-joining the EU. However, Keir Starmer remarked brazenly to the Conservative chastisement of ‘unpicking Brexit’ that there was no case existing to carry forward the process. He stated the matter under discussion is no longer amounting to a relevant significance in the list of talked-about topics – UK households were not inquiring about EU as vibrantly as usual. Furthermore, the Liberal Democrats sprung to rather a comparatively realistic take. A ‘war without mercy’ has been prescribed on vote trading as Italy’s Prime Minister urges the United Nations by Ed Davey.
