This weekend, Ryanair pilots in Belgium are engaging in an industrial action in a protest over their working conditions, resulting in 96 flights from the Charleroi Airport being cancelled. According to pilots, the airline fails to abide by collective conventions agreed on in 2020 and Ryanair has been accused of noncompliance with Belgian cheap labor laws. In contrast, the airline has praised other countries such as Italy, France, and Spain for reaching deals over the working conditions, and according to the company, more than half of the Charleroi Airport’s traffic comes from non-Belgian staff.
