According to IntoTheBlock, over 3.51 million addresses now hold SHIB – representing a 22% increase since May. The upcoming launch of Shibarium on a layer-2 blockchain is likely the main factor driving this influx of new SHIB holders. The team behind Shiba Inu is very pleased with the community’s growth, commenting that it has developed at “warp speed”. Additionally, data from IntoTheBlock reveals that a total of 1.24 million non-empty wallets hold SHIB – accounting for almost 35.3% of all holders. Lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has referenced a possible mainnet launch occurring towards the middle of August, and this could attract more users and further growth in the SHIB currency.
