The United Nations has affirmed that on Saturday, 61 trucks full of humanitarian supplies, food, water, and medical equipment passed the border into the besieged and deprived Gaza Strip from Nitzana, Israel. An additional 11 ambulances, three coaches, and a flatbed made it to Al-Shifa Hospital to assist with evacuations. OCHA has shared in a public statement their gratitude to the Palestinian and Egyptian Red Crescent organizations for the aide.

The four-day truce currently in effect marks an between Israel and the Hamas-led movement, allowing for hostages and detainees to be released under Qatar, Egyptian, and American mediation. OCHA has reiterated their call for “the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages”. Shockingly, that violence started when Hamas assailant stormed Gaza’s border against Israel in October of last year, which led to the death from 1,200 people from Israel and foreign countries .

Before the cessation of hostilities, 137 transportation buses had already made it over the border, and while the crossover of resources remains unrestrained for the time being, aid has been able to keep it’s provision as the ceasefire persists.
