On Monday (August 28th), Walmart and forward-thinking creative studio POClab had their long-awaited reveal of “Cultureverse” – an immersive virtual experience honoring the 50th birthday of Hip-Hop and the groundbreaking impact of Black culture. Since 2021, POClab has broken boundaries with their #MetaPride initiative, featuring the world’s first Pride Festival in the metaverse, teaming up with Gaingels, ConcreteRose, Tess Ventures, and more. Slated for launch this September on Spatial, “Cultureverse” will traverse thousands of miles virtually, tracing the roots and evolution of hip-hop. It’s that pursuit of change through human connections that motivates POClab’s tribute to the culture. Supporting this immersive experience is annual hip-hop music festival, Rock The Bells, alongside unnamed partners.

Walmart, a key collaborator in this venture, uses its platform to maximize the power ascending from Black artists, makers, and entrepreneurs.
